PickMate is System Logistics' fully automated robotic picking solution, designed to efficiently handle order preparation through a direct pallet-to-pallet process. Its key differentiator is the ability to automatically pick cases from a source pallet and place them directly onto a destination pallet, eliminating manual handling activities while ensuring high productivity, accuracy, and operational continuity.
From a hardware perspective, the solution mainly consists of Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) and robotic units equipped with advanced vision systems. The robots move along dedicated floor-mounted rails, allowing them to serve multiple picking stations and maximize operational efficiency. Thanks to this architecture, and subject to floor flatness verification, PickMate is particularly well suited for installation in existing buildings, as it requires minimal infrastructure and avoids major structural modifications. Its modular design also provides great flexibility, enabling the system layout to be easily adapted to customer-specific operational requirements.
The true core of the solution, however, lies in its software intelligence. Leveraging System Logistics’ extensive experience in warehouse automation, PickMate uses a proprietary Best Fitting algorithm to create stable and optimized order pallets. The software determines the ideal pallet composition while taking into account product stackability constraints, dimensions, weight distribution, and all customer-specific pallet building rules.
The algorithm is capable of managing complex palletizing requirements, including retail-ready displays, store-specific presentation criteria, and customized sequencing rules defined by the end customer. As a result, each pallet is optimized not only for transport stability and warehouse efficiency but also for downstream handling and in-store replenishment processes.
By combining advanced robotics, intelligent software, and automated material handling, PickMate significantly improves picking productivity, reduces labor dependency, enhances order quality, and increases overall operational safety. The solution is particularly suitable for environments characterized by a high volume of repetitive orders, such as the Food & Beverage industry and large-scale retail distribution networks.
