Food industry and logistics professionals gathered at Tampere Exhibition and Sports Centre on 11–12 September 2024. Finland’s most significant trade fair for the logistics and food industry filled the halls with satisfied visitors and exhibitors. At the same time, the EuroSafety and Occupational Wellbeing fairs were also held, bringing the total number of visitors across all four events to 9,249.
During the two-day Food Industry and Logistics Fair, participants explored current topics in food production and internal logistics. Alongside these, the three-day EuroSafety and Occupational Wellbeing fairs took place. Together, the four professional events attracted 9,249 visitors and 323 exhibitors under one roof. Visitor numbers grew by 18% compared to 2022, when the fairs were last held.
“We’ve received a lot of positive feedback from exhibitors and partners about this year’s fairs. As organizers, we’re naturally pleased with the impressive growth in visitor numbers – it’s a great foundation for planning the 2026 event,” says Petrina Palmroth, Project Manager at Tampere Trade Fairs.
Food Industry Fair Focused on Sustainable Food Production
This year, the Food Industry Fair highlighted smart and sustainable food production for the future. The event’s main partner, Valio, sees the fair as the perfect-sized platform for networking and sharing experiences among industry professionals.
“The Food Industry Fair has been an excellent opportunity for us to reach key players in the sector. Our ongoing Food 2.0 project has sparked a lot of interest at the fair and led to meaningful discussions about the future of Finland’s food system,” says Aino Laakso, Communications Manager at Valio.
The fair also hosted the Finnish Bakery Team Championship, with the winning team coming from Elonen Oy’s bakery in Jämsä.
Logistics Fair Showcased and Awarded New Innovations
The Logistics Fair featured lively discussions on the role of logistics in the production chain, focusing on technological innovations, sustainability, and productivity. The event’s main partner, Konecranes, was pleased with the visibility and valuable connections gained through the partnership.
“The Logistics Fair has provided valuable meetings and conversations with customers. Many companies are looking to improve efficiency and reduce their carbon footprint, and our new, larger fully electric forklifts have attracted particular interest,” says Klaus Kaukovalta, Product Manager at Konecranes.
The Logistics Fair offered a rich program throughout both days, organized by the logistics network Limowa ry and the Finnish Association of Purchasing and Logistics (LOGY ry). LOGY also presented the Internal Logistics Innovation Award at the fair, which this year went to Tavastia Vocational College’s internal logistics training program.
The Food Industry and Logistics Fair will return in September 2026 at Tampere Exhibition and Sports Centre.
